On the Eve of Pre-School

Tomorrow is a big day for us--our little boys are starting pre-school. We attended our 1st Parent Night on Monday night and it just felt so surreal--like this only happens for other people. I am in such awe of the little boys they are becoming. I know their lives are such a miracle and I never could have imagined this day over 3 years ago when we sent out mass emails just hoping they would come home without tubes and wires. We just wanted those little 4 pounders to be able to breathe and eat on their own. Now our days are pretty routine but there is never a day that I don't remember just how desperate we were to have them and how cherished they are. We thank God every night for sending them to us and never ever take for granted the gift and privilege of parenthood. And we never forget all the people that prayed, sent cards, asked questions and were just generally concerned (and still are) about their well-being.
Of course I'm nervous for them to have the influence of 16 other children on Tuesdays and Thursdays but I feel confident that with the strong bond they have formed they can handle it. What one can't do, 2 can do together! I have spent very little time apart from them over the past 3 years so it will be a bit of an adjustment for me--one I am willing to tackle with the assistance of Suburban Square and TJ Maxx--just kidding Dan. I've attached a new favorite picture of mine with them looking so mature and so silly at the same time. There's still lots of growing to be done! I'll let you know how tomorrow goes...
