I cannot believe how well the day went. We all woke up at 7:30 this morning--mind you this has NEVER happened. Their sleeping record was set on July 2, 2006--the day after Chuck and Jodi's wedding. Usually Dan is downstairs with both (or one) of them between 6:30-7:00. Everyone got dressed without a fuss (Dan included) and ate some breakfast. We left in time for a little photo shoot and have them in their classroom by 9AM. As soon as we opened the car doors they were off. They both scurried along the path and went right into to room to hang up their backpacks where they quickly found different areas of the room that they liked. Jack--the animals. Luke--the Disney Princess castle. We talked with them last night about listening to the teacher, using their best manners and looking out for each other. As soon as I told Jack we were leaving he said "Otay Mommy, I'll go find Nukey". And that was it. They were happy as can be. I came back by 11:45 and assembled in the car pick up line (just about the greatest thing ever) and they were escorted to the car where they both skipped into their seats and Luke asked if they could go back there again! Easy as that. Luke continued to give me details about the rest of the morning as we drove home and Jack just nodded his head like "I'm with him". I used my new found freedom to make a trip to Target and come home to clean up and do the dishes. A great morning! Let's hope the novelty doesn't wear off until sometime in early May!
