We woke up early this morning and cabbed it over to Epcot so we wouldn't be late for our Breakfast with the Princesses at Akerhus in Norway. FYI-it is pronounced Aker-house, but I referred to it as Aker-SHUS, but I'm sure you all knew how to pronounce it...anyway I digress. It was a a real treat. The boys love the ladies and were happy to meet Mary Poppins, Belle, Jasmine and a few others I can't recall right now. We then spent the rest of the morning in Epcot which turned out to be a bust b/c both boys were so cranky. However, Luke loved the Nemo ride which we took him on twice and Jack enjoyed being a curmudgeon for the morning. We did manage to mildly entertain them in the aquarium and as always a good "elebator" or "escavator" can break any bad mood. Jack was fascinated by the giant golf ball which he said even "Tiger Woods couldn't hit". Daddy thought it was too small for Tiger. So back to the hotel for a battle of the naps! After several hours of frustration we got back on the bus and headed for a 7:00 dinner and show at the Biergarten in Germany where we have eaten before with Greg and Vanessa but really love it. Jack even asked mommy to dance to the polka in the middle of the dance floor and that's where he wanted to stay for the rest of the evening. Here is where I should mention just how much we missed our travel partners--the Smiths. Greg and Vanessa are quite possibly the easiest people to travel with and it is much more fun to have some adult conversation at dinner to divert your attention from your pudding catapulting son (See pic). Vanessa doesn't object to any of my Clark Griswald planning and never complains when I race them from character to character BUT their dream son Landon makes Jack and Luke look like double trouble! Maybe next time---perhaps a more relaxing trip?! Anyway after dinner we leisurely walked around the countries, which is mine and Dan's favorite thing--and it was absolutely empty. Empty to the point of almost creepy. We felt like we had the place to ourselves. IT was a really clear night with a nice breeze as Hanna was in the air. God must have known we were at wits end....we stayed for the fireworks show which was amazing and the boys only lost it on the way to the bus....where I met another Mom with 4 kids under 5 (twins included) who helped put it into perspective. A rough morning with a great night! Can we really handle another day???
