Happy Halloween!

I'm sure I will have a few more posts from this weekend but we've had such an eventful morning already that I had to share a few stories....

Dan took the boys to work this morning for a little visit and trick-or-treating with his co-workers which meant a ride on the TRAIN. They were both thrilled. So thrilled that Luke woke up at 5AM and asked if it was time to go into Daddy's building yet. Not quite buddy. They had such a great time visiting and having breakfast in the cafeteria (sorry Dad--I think your invitation is next). I picked them up outside the Comcast building at 9:30 so as to avoid the mayhem that was coming as the Phillies parade was scheduled to start at Noon. Being only 1 block over from the parade route, I wanted to see for myself how crazy it was even at 9:30 and it was a mob scene. I know Dan would have loved to have let them stay for the parade but there is no way I would allow that. Phillies fans are crazy--they've waited 28 years. Case in point--when Dan did walk over to Broad and Lombard for the parade there were several people scaling buildings, climbing power lines and breaking into abandoned buildings so they could hang their heads out of windows which of course they popped the plywood out of. Nice. Anyway on to our next stop...we had a short visit at a nursing home this morning for a little costume parade. There were about 15 kids who walked the halls and said Boo--it was nice and the boys were mildly amused for a few minutes. The Clorans coordinated this event through our group Generous Generations which I will talk about more in depth in another post but it was a really nice thing to do and we enjoyed ourselves. They are OBSESSED with their costumes and asked me at least 20 times to "fluff me up, fluff me up, fix my costume"...After I was exhausted and we were leaving sweet little Jacky leans over to me and says "did we put a smile on their faces?" If no one elses, certainly mine.
I have attached a few pix with the boys and their friends Clare (Snow White) and Duke (Superman).

As we were driving home from the nursing home here's how it transpired in the backseat....

Luke: I do not want to be Tow Mater for trick or treating tonight! I want to be a grumpy old troll.
Jack: No Luke. They don't sell that at Target.

I couldn't write this stuff myself. Just another day in the life of 3 year olds....
