Give me some space Mom...

Today I had the funniest conversations/banter with Luke. Luke is a loud child and like his Mama has very few unexpressed thoughts. He doesn't miss a beat and doesn't miss an opportunity to comment either. Jack is much quieter but has an amazing vocabulary nonetheless. Jack is such a riot how he treats Luke--definitely the big brother. If Luke does a good job, Jack will encourage him. If Luke questions something, Jack will say "cmon Luke can you do this for me?" Jack is always telling Luke what a "gweat job" he does with things. To occasionally sit and listen to their conversations from the next room is always the highlight of my day.

A day in the life....
Before we left the house this morning, we were watching Dora and as usual I was sort of smothering Luke and was rubbing his back. He looked over at me, took out his boo and said "Mommy, may you please stop wubbing me?" My little boy needs his space--I was so sad.

We were running errands this morning and from the backseat..
Luke and Jack: Mommy, can we go watch the trains go by?
Me: Sure. (we pull into the Wynnewood Shopping Center directly across the street from the train station so we have a clear view)
Luke: Oh, do you have to go to "Bed Beyond"?
Me: How do you know what Bed Bath and Beyond is??
Luke: giggling...is my Daddy getting off this R5? (Dan's train)

After passing a few firetrucks (their latest obsession)..
Me: Remember how you're learning in school that it's Fire Safety week?
Boys: We are?
Me: What do we do if the fire alarm ever goes off in our house?
Jack: GET OUT.
Luke: And go to the Samulewicz's front porch and then when we go back to our house, the Easter Bunny will be there???
Me: Not really.....

On questioning when they will get to meet Avery..
Jack: Is Avery gonna come to our house?
Luke: no Jack, she still at the hospital.
Jack: well when she's out of the hospital?
Me: Well she needs to stay in the hospital for a few days but I'm sure you'll meet her someday soon.
Luke: Oh she needs to stay in the hospital because God made her and the Doctors need to make sure her body is OK?
Me: That's exactly right....

Attached are a few photos from our afternoon at Linvilla Orchards. The 4 of us want last week but Dan's favorite apples (winesaps) weren't out yet so we went back today to get some for him and I staged a few photo shoots where I could. The picture with Jack dancing on the haystack is hilarious b/c he's actually singing "I'm the ting of the tastle" and dancing at the same time. He is a character and is usually more than willing to sit for my photo shoots. Luke--not so much....
