Visit with Avery

Little Avery is almost 3 weeks old and tipping the scales at close to 7 pounds--a real porker! She's a tiny little thing with lots of stretching and neck craning going on. Chuck and Jodi affectionately refer to her as Yertle the Turtle because she cranes her neck back so far. She is adorable, a really beautiful child, and I could have held her all day. She is one loved little girl. It quickly brought back memories of our teeny tiny "bags of sugar" who would only sleep on our chests. Seems like so long ago that we brought them home from the hospital and my greatest pasttime was counting breaths--oh and pumping! Oh and taking hundreds of pictures a day....

We ended up spending the night in the rainy Poconos so I didn't have to drive on wet leaves in the dark. Definitely my least favorite driving conditions. We came back early this morning to get the boys to school and they have been sleeping all afternoon (going on 4 hours). It's just that kind of day I guess.

Jack and Luke are always happy to see their cousins and get their hands on someone else's toys. They also really liked petting Nestle this time. Jack told me "See Mommy I TOLD you I would like a puppy at our house". Note--He's never said that....followed by "When can we get a puppy?" I quickly explained umm NEVER b/c Daddy is allergic. In the meanwhile Jack loves Nestle..."she's a good ole dog", he says. That she is.
