Curious George Pajama Party

The boys had a great time at their party on Saturday. Our theme was a combination of what they both asked for. They are always in their pajamas so we figured they would be in the majority if everyone else came dressed in jammies as well and they love Curious George (or Georgie as Luke calls him) so a combo of the two was pretty easy to do. We also rented a moon bounce which they have been talking about for months. Dan agreed to be the Man in the Yellow Hat--despite the fact that he was head to toe in a poly/spandex blend on an 80 degree day. I love themes and spend months searching for all the details and Dan gets into as we get closer to the date. In February he thinks I'm a little nuts, but when June rolls around he's on board. I'm already thinking about next year.....
The boys love to see their cousins and spend the day outside and the moon bounce was a dream come true for them. As you'll see in the pictures, Jack blew out his candle in a Rice Krispie treat (one of a handful of egg less desserts) and Luke licked the icing off of a cupcake. Maybe next year--a real cake for both of them!
After everyone left, Luke started to cry and tug at his ear which was bright red and I thought he got bit by a bug either inside his ear or right outside but it turns out he cried for the next 2 hours and we had to take him to the ER to confirm that yes he did have an ear infection and they could prescribe an antibiotic. He has had 5-6 ear infections since the winter which is unusual for his age. Our next step is a visit to the ENT to figure out why he keeps getting them at a time when most kids are growing out of them. Jack has only ever had 1 in his whole life and Luke's have all started in the last year. "That's stwange", as Luke would say. The good news is he woke up on Sunday feeling instantly better and hasn't said another word about it since Saturday night. So we'll keep you posted.
