Happy 4th of July

We had a great long weekend in Ocean City for the 4th of July and the boys were thrilled. They had a great time everyday on the beach and LOVE fireworks. The morning of the 4th, we decorated Jack's scooter and Luke's bike for an old-fashioned bike parade in the South end of town--lots of people just walking along throwing candy on decorated bikes, scooters, strollers etc.. Jack and Daddy wore matching hats and Jack loved it but got tired after 4 blocks or so. Luke decided at the last minute that he would rather be a spectator and just sat on his decorated bike trying to catch candy. A much more enjoyable parade this year than last when I had been up all night long throwing up after eating bad shellfish. I'm still scarred and have eaten very little seafood in the last year. That night, we went to the boardwalk and sat on the beach to watch fireworks and Luke narrated the entire show for everyone around us...."wow, look at that one--it's orange. Here comes a blue one etc..." The weather was beautiful and the water was pretty nice a few of the days. Jack especially loves the water. Luke is content to dig in the sand or just get his feet wet, but Jack wants to be in it constantly. When he gets out of the water and is cold he runs up to the "hot sand" and rolls around like a sand-battered chicken nugget. He comes home with 1/2 of the beach in his bathing suit but he doesn't care--he is happy as can be. Dan loves to be in the water with them and eventually got Luke in as much as Jack. Luke screamed "Holy Mackerel" the whole time and you could hear his squeals across the beach. It was the best. As we were pulling out of Nana and Pop-Pop Gallagher's driveway to go home on Monday, Luke said "I sure am going to miss Ocean City". Guess we'll be back down one more time before the baby gets here.....

In baby news, I am 36 weeks--27 more days to go--and they are estimating that the baby is a little over 6 pounds right now. Still expecting to go on August 6, but a July birthday would be fine by me. Still going weekly to the hematologist, and now the OB, so hopefully we'll have a heads up if anything starts to progress.
