Baby Sprinkle

I was completely surprised this weekend when my family hosted a little baby sprinkle for me (us) at our house. Dan and I had taken the boys out for the morning to try to get a family photo of the 4 of us + the belly and then some belly shots. The photo shoot was exhausting and Jack, who got up at 6 am, was a mess. Not only did he refuse to get in any pictures, he refused to get out of any pictures. He just stood there screaming with his back against the backdrop. We were there for about 30 minutes and then instead of waiting to see the pics, we just busted right out of there which I didn't think anything of b/c Jack was such a mess. Luke and I walked into the house first which really surprised both of us. Everyone was lined up on the staircase and I didn't even put it all together why everyone would be at our house. Luke hurried off to another room at first but both Jack and Luke loved playing with their cousins for the afternoon. Jack's cranky mood magically disappeared when the big kids were around. Uncle Chuck, Aunt Jodi and Avery were the last to leave and later Jack said "weren't we so lucky we got to see them for a long time after everyone left....they were our longest customers". The things they come up with....they keep talking about how surprised they were and wonder who we can throw a surprise party for next.

It was such an amazing, thoughtful thing to do and I was super surprised. The most unique thing was that they asked everyone to bring a frozen meal for us instead of presents since we literally do not need a single thing. Meals are the best thing ever for me b/c as most of you know we would be eating soft pretzels and tastykakes every night if it were left to me. Dinner just always seems to sneak up on me every night....this thing again? I know Dan is happy to have a well-stocked freezer! I do believe my family throws the nicest showers, if I do say so myself. No detail is left undone and so much care and attention is paid to everything. As a person who loves the details, I really appreciate the little things and I would never expect anything like this for our 3rd child. The best part was getting to see some friends and family before the little guy gets here when we know things will be hectic for a few weeks....years?
I've attached some pictures. 18 more days to go.....
