The boys were officially 4 last Thursday--June 25th. Dan took off Thur and Friday so we took the boys to their soccer camp in the morning and then off to Ocean City for the day for a fun day on the beach. (I will post again later with pictures from their Curious George Pajama Party which we had on Saturday). Soccer camp was a bit of a bust that day as they were more interested in chasing after Daddy and not participating in class. A little frustrating when you pay to put them in a week long camp with time that may have been more productive in our backyard--but I digress. Anyway, they love to be down the shore so we figured we would just have a low-key day letting them do whatever they wanted. However, Jack was a little overwhelmed the whole day and was a little whinier than usual and both boys seemed to be fighting a bit of an asthma episode. One of these years maybe we'll wise up and just pretend their birthday is some random day in June. They seem to get overwhelmed on the special occasions but we just plug through. As you'll see in some of the attached pics.
They had fun on the beach with Nana and Pop-Pop and their cousins-the "Bender kids" (as they call them) who were also down for the week. We had dinner, singing and rice krispie treats with Mom-Mom and Pop-Pop and then went up to the boardwalk for "4" rides. We hit the road by 8:15 and they were asleep within 5 minutes. They've asked me many times since Thursday if they are still 4. We were happy to get to the beach after 21 days of rain in Philadelphia and happy to spend the day together. Our little boys are growing up and we just love them more each day--even with all the whining :) They are amazing little boys.
