Dutch Wonderland

Yesterday I took the boys to Lancaster for a day of family fun at Dutch Wonderland--"a Kingdom for Kids" or as Uncle Joey and John Mayer call it "Your body is dutch wonderland". We've heard people rave about how nice it is for little ones and it really is a beautiful park. Aunt Shani, Uncle Joey, Marissa (Joey's sister or as Charlie lovingly calls his aunt "his husband") were all there to keep the monkeys under control. Jack and Luke loved it--they especially enjoy influencing Charlie with their shenanigans and little Finn is happy to laugh at all 3 of them. The park is a really manageable size and is designed for the toddler/pre school age so they can go on almost every single ride and the faster the better for them. I was happy on the Fun Slide or Monorail, but my little dare-devils wanted to go on the roller coaster, tilt-a-whirl (AKA "Turtle World" according to Charlie) and any other large contraption that had kids screaming on it. Lucky for them their Aunt Shani and Uncle Joey love rides and were more than happy to oblige! I was the official photographer and got some funny shots. By the end of the day we watched a small Thomas the Tank Engine stage show and then headed over to the water park which was a real hit! Jack loves the water and Luke is happy to climb all over anything in his path. By 4:00, meltdowns were imminent so we grabbed dinner to go (stopped at the Outlets for 10 minutes--I can't be that close and not go in, where coincidentally we ran into our neighbors the Samulewicz's) and headed home. Jack told me in the car that "He makes me smile". He loves his Uncle Joey.

It's always a little risky when I take them for a "big day trip" by myself but we had a wonderful day at "Dutch WonderYand". Definitely worth the trip....
