There are so many things I have forgotten already and I wish I took everyone's advice to just write it down. Some things are jotted down on scraps of paper and thrown in the baby books but there are way too many undocumented things!! Just impossible to keep up with. So many times a day I look at Jack and Luke and just love 5 year old boys. I know this age is just going to be gone in the blink of an eye. I have always tried to cherish every moment, even with the challenges, but to see them so happy and healthy is really the greatest gift. IMHO, I do think they are getting easier and more fun each day. 5 just agrees with them--and me! They are so excited for Christmas, are truly best friends and doting big brothers and are so fun to be around (when they're not whining, wrestling each other or dragging Quinny around the house). And as I've said before, we just ADORE Quinn. We really appreciate him and his sweetness and his milestones and his own little journey more than we knew how to with Jack and Luke. So a few things overheard this week out and about....
At MomMom and Pop Pop's house..
Luke: Pointing to their alarm motion detector--"what's this thing Mom Mom?
Mom: A motion detector.
Luke: A mouse detector?
The next day after an SJU game where Dan and Jack went by themselves. Jack was nice enough to bring an extra rally towel back for Luke....
Me: "Luke, wasn't that so nice of Jack to think of you last night and bring you a towel even though you didn't go to the game??"
Luke: "Yes I love it. I'm going to put it outside my bedroom door and use it as a doormat"
During a shopping trip to Carter's with just Jack and I where we needed to find something for the Comcast party....
Me: "Jack what do you think about this shirt for Daddy's Holiday Party?
Jack: That's ridickerous...I'm not wearing that shirt"
Very soon I'm sure, Quinn is going to start with an amazing vocabulary. For now, we love to hear his little voice say "yay!", mama, Dadda, and "hum-ma" for yes or anything else he wants. He is a little dancer and loves to sway to music or try to "play" instruments. For the last 2 nights he has slept from 7PM-6:30AM. If we make it a week then we are in business. We didn't get an uninterrupted night of sleep until Jack and Luke were officially 2 years old and then slept great for 2 more years before Quinny arrived. I think he's on his way though a few months earlier than Jack and Luke. That's our boy!
