As I sit here listening to the howling wind outside my window, I am reminded that cold December is here. Our Thanksgivings were very nice and the 4 day weekend was much needed. We helped the Costals get their nursery ready, took the boys to the Flyers game where Dan and his 6 foot wing, I mean arm, span caught a t-shirt for the boys from the moving zamboni. They had a great time.
We are getting ready for Christmas over here and making our Santa rounds, decorating the house, opening our advent calendar everyday, searching for "Weeb" (our Elf on the Shelf) each morning, and trying to do some other special things along the way. Last year I was a little extra ambitious--new baby hormones I think, but this year I don't have as many daily activities planned.
We went last weekend to Sesame Place for their Holiday weekend which was nice but probably not repeatable. Quinn enjoyed seeing the characters in person and loves el-MO! We visited our usual Santa at the King of Prussia mall--the real deal--where Luke happily gave Santa a full report on one of his elf employees--Weeb! They also decorated the windows at the MAC store and happily made faces at passer-bys. On Saturday we had our annual Generous Generations PJ and Movie Night where we collect jammies for a needy group. This year about 75 kids and adults came to start the season off with some generosity. After packaging the PJ's for the kids, we watched a few Christmas movies on the big screen at the school. Each year, the boys understand a little more why we do this so hopefully it's worthwhile. We have so much to be thankful for that we always feel like there is more we can do. Wishing you peace and joy as you prepare for Christmas.
