Before I get too far behind, I must blog about our sweet, precious little Quinn who turned 1 on Sat July 31. We have just had such an amazing year with him and I am definitely a little sad that his year of "firsts" are behind us. I know we've said it a million times but he is just the sweetest, calmest baby. He is quick with a smile and is so calm and peaceful. I could see it in his eyes the day he was born and he has been complete joy ever since. His face just lights up when you smile at him or go to get him out of his crib. Jack and Luke just adore him and Quinn is their little sidekick. He has not started walking on his own yet but certainly gets around and walks along everything he can or pushes his walker. He babbles a lot and says the typical mama, dada and brovo (we think for brothers) at the appropriate times. We are still trying to get him to sleep through the night--last night 8pm-5am with only 1 screaming episode. We had his 1 year old well visit on Monday and he is a little over 21 pounds, so I guess he's on the smaller size weight-wise, but height is slightly above average and head size is almost off the charts. He is a healthy little boy and we are so grateful. We love him so much.
So on to the party.....We decided to have just family (all 40 of us!) because we were lucky enough to have both of our entire families here which was the best part. With Colleen in AZ, David in California and the nieces and nephews getting older, someone usually has something so it it rare that we are all in the same place at the same time anymore. But lucky for Quinn he got to be with all of his cousins and the only person missing was Uncle "Steve-O." I was so happy to finally be having a Sesame Street Party. Quinn is mesmerized by the show, music and characters so this was an easy theme to decide on. However, Sesame party stuff is a little harder to come by then I expected. Not really hard, but just not as abundant as I thought. I used etsy for a few items, Lowes, Ikea, ebay, Target, Michaels. There is nothing I enjoy more than a good theme. Blame the sorority Rush chair in me but I could plan parties everyday. I have included lots of pictures--with a few more to follow. The huge cutouts were on loan from a friends neighbor and Quinn loved them. Jack and Luke said it was the best party they've ever been to--much better than their rocket party they told me.
