Unbelievably, 10 years have gone by in the blink of an eye. Dan and I are approaching our official 10 year anniversary this September 2, but we snuck away a few weeks early--by ourselves--for a long weekend to St. Michaels. We had briefly been through St.Michaels a few years back and knew that it was a 1-horse town, which is exactly what we wanted. We stayed at a beautiful Inn--the Inn at Perry Cabin--which is 1 of the filming locations for Wedding Crashers. One of our favorite movies. If you've seen the movie, you will recognize the pictures. We had such a relaxing time--walked and biked around town, lounged at the pool, went out to lunch and dinner, and took a day trip to Annapolis on one of the overcast/rainy days. This was my 1st time away from Quinny and probably only the 3rd time from the boys in 5 years. It was so nice to actually eat dinner and be by ourselves--which seems like a lifetime ago that it was just the 2 of us, but we really missed the boys and couldn't wait to see them by the time we got home. They actually seemed happy to see us too :)
Back at home, Kelli and the girls watched Jack, Luke and Quinn and we were told that they did great. Some deviant behavior did take place as Aunt Kelli took Courtney to Villanova to tour campus and the boys were along for the ride. As loyal SJU fans, they were beside themselves. When they went into the bookstore Jack wanted to buy a notebook and Luke didn't think it was such a good idea b/c Daddy might get mad. Poor kids! When the Admissions office heard about their Hawk lineage, she was more than happy to give them a few more Villanova pencils--"anything to make a Hawk mad" she said. Now when we drive past campus, the boys say "that's where Courtney is going to school." To be fair, Kelli did try to take them to St. Joe's too, but Uncle Steve didn't want to miss another school so they'll have to visit next time when Steve and Ryan are with them. Our loyal little Hawks!
