I have not blogged in several weeks but I think I have a few good excuses....first of all I think everyone knows by now that we have #3 on the way. I am almost 14 weeks pregnant and feeling really good overall. A few minor issues with my blood but I am very well monitored and hopefully will not require any blood transfusions. We have told the boys and they seem generally happy about it and mention "our new baby" pretty frequently. The official due date is August 6. We went for an early ultrasound last week and all signs seem to be pointing to a boy, but we won't know for sure for another 6 weeks. Dan thinks a boy and I think a girl. We will keep you posted on gender but we plan on keeping the name a secret.
Secondly, our camera stopped working last week and we had to send it back to Canon for repair. Overuse? Perhaps. And honestly, who wants to read this blog without pictures?
We are officially on Day 2 of potty training. Yes this is a tad late as the boys will be 4 in June. But overall we have had 2 great days--nothing too unexpected. Here's hoping it will only take a few days. Preferably by Sunday when we leave for Disney. We are taking a quick trip to get out of this miserable cold and we are so excited--well Dan will be once we get there:) He needs a break from the mouse. We are staying for 4 nights at the Animal Kingdom Lodge which we are super excited about--each trip we have stayed somewhere different and I think this will be by far the nicest. The boys don't know we're going but the timing may work out perfectly if they have a good week and our potty training is on track. It probably would have been a little easier if they decided they wanted to wear underwear 2 weeks from now but I'm just glad they are wearing them and are excited about it. Luke frequents the potty 3 times as much as Jack and really Jack is just along for the ride. I thought for sure Jack would be the one to get the ball moving, as he as been first on every major milestone since they were born, but this time Luke initiated the undies after he did a fashion show for the 3 of us and tried on every single pair of undies that we have. He checked himself out in the mirror--front and back--and decided which pair he wanted to wear. Sounds like me and shoes....
Dan has officially submitted his application for the White House Fellowship--after a stressful hour of having technical difficulties with submission on Saturday--the day before the application was due. We should know by early March if he is a Regional Finalist which means he would get a first round interview. And then there are several more rounds from that point, but 1 step at a time. This is would be amazing for our family so keep your fingers crossed, say a few prayers, light a candle...We know the right thing will happen.
Save the Date for Suds and Spuds IV on March 14. And I should warn you all that Chuck and Jodi believe that not only do they have the winning recipe but a recipe that will revolutionize soup as we know it. So now you have a little preview of their dish but competition is steep this year.
Here's to an extra minute of sunlight each night....6 more weeks until Spring! I promise the next post will have pictures.
