My goodness--December is just flying by and I am so behind with my oh-so-entertaining blog. I'm sure you all anxious for our latest adventure. We have been doing lots of Christmas crafts with the boys every night which they have been loving. Luke especially enjoys all things crafty and Jack enjoys following directions and being part of an activity so it's been working out as an evening activity when things sometimes get a little hairy. Last week Dan was traveling and was gone all week to Chicago so we did lots of Christmas activities, went out to dinner to Cosi with Pop-Pop Gallagher (our usual loud, kid-friendly dinner choice), made several trips to the mall to stalk Santa, you know all the usual stops. We spent hours making salt dough ornaments which is really fun for anyone looking for an easy Christmas activity with the kids or grandkids. (Go to the Today Show's website under Christmas Activities and they have the details or email me.)We also paid a visit to Thomas the Tank Engine in Lancaster. Dan wasn't able to take the day off from work so the boys and I ventured out by ourselves and we had a great time. It was freezing but they were thrilled to watch Thomas pull in and out of the station all morning. Because it was a cold Friday, we had the place to ourselves which was really nice to take advantage of all the kid activities that they have under the big tent and also not be afraid to get lost in the crowd since I was by myself. Additionally, I love driving out to Lancaster. And for more than just the outlets. It takes us a little over an hour and it is such a nice drive. It just seems so calm out there. Smelly, but calm. Honestly I'm not sure what the boys liked more--Thomas or the Amish horse and buggies....
