Cousin Detox

We have had a wonderful past few weeks. Christmas was so great--the boys thoroughly enjoyed all of it--from Santa, to the Christmas music, to seeing our families and were even so well-behaved in Mass. We spent Christmas Eve at my Mom and Dad's and woke up there for Christmas morning as well. We did our usual dollar gift routine and Pollyanna and welcomed Baby Avery into her 1st year of chaos! I have to send a shout out to our family friends Sue and Rich who are avid blog readers--God Bless them. My Dad went to Kindergarten and beyond with Sue and they are just wonderful people whom we were lucky to see on Christmas Eve! That evening, Jack and Luke were thrilled with their Pollyanna picks--Aunt Shani and Uncle Joey! They almost burst when their turns finally came to give their "secret present". 23 people spent the night which means there are cousins for Jack and Luke everywhere you turn! On Christmas morning we even had a special visit from Pop-Pop Santa.....Luke just looked at him in all his gear and said "Oh, Hi Pop-Pop". We came home for mass and Christmas morning at our house and met Nana and Pop-Pop Gallagher and Uncle David (who was in from Cali.). It took the boys about 5 seconds to open their presents and they were thrilled with a red rocket ship and Dora dollhouse. I have a feeling this will be the last year that 2 little boys ask for anything Dora the Explorer. They were just adorable. They thanked us over and over and couldn't "beweave" that Rudolph ate their carrots! Their favorite song to sing around the house has been Dashing through the Snow and Jingle Bells--yes, 2 distinct songs. We celebrated with the Gallagher's on Christmas night and for several days after as Dan's brother was in town and Wendy and Kevin and kids stayed with us. We had a lot of fun and Jack and Luke just love having all of their cousins here. They are definitely missing the full house. We took the Benders downtown the day after Christmas to see some of the Christmas shows (Macy's and Comcast) and had a fun morning walking around town. The view from the Comcast building is spectacular and all of the kids (and adults) were mesmerized. I have attached lots of photos from the past few weeks and will post again soon. Wishing all of you a healthy, happy 2009!
