Have 2 months really gone by since my last blog?? The boys finished Kindergarten and we hitched along on a work trip with Daddy to Disney at the end of May. We spent 5 nights at the Polynesian which is a place I have always wanted to stay. We loved the location and the ease of getting around but we were a little disappointed with some other aspects. The property is beautiful though and we tried to enjoy all that we could there.
I think it's time for a break from Disney for a little while. Yes, Dan you have it in writing. The boys always have a great time and ask when we are going back before we even get to the Orlando Airport. Quinn was a great little traveler and fell asleep on the fly whenever he could. While Dan had to be in Orlando for a work conference, I had 2 days by myself with the boys and one of the days was spent riding the monorail around and around while Quinn got an hour nap. Quinn loved meeting the characters and could barely contain himself while he waited in line to hug "Hot Dog" (what he calls Mickey Mouse).

Jack and Luke finished up Kindergarten the week we got back from Disney and were very excited for summer to start. They had 2 great teachers and made some really good friends, who unfortunately all go their separate ways for 1st grade. 2 of their classmates continued on with them to 1st grade but are in different classes.
Luke was happy to be-bop around with Quinn chasing characters with his autograph book. This was the 1st trip we used the books and it was really a fun thing for them to do. We reserved the left side of all the pages for the autographs and crossed off the right side so that we could put the picture of them meeting the corresponding character in when we got home. It made for a nice little memory book and Luke loves to show everyone.

Jack loved Splash Mountain with Daddy and rode that several times. In the below picture, I am in yellow with my hand up and both boys are on either side of me. The only time Luke and I rode it! Luke and I aren't big in the ride department but they wanted me to go with them one time, and how can you say no when you are in Disney???

Luke loved the gift shops, and they all loved the pools. Jack is a huge fan of the water slides, while Luke is content to hang around the sides of the pool and swing from the railings. We are still working on their swimming skills so the pool is not super relaxing for us quite yet. The pool at the Polynesian closed for all but 1 day that we were there so they gave us full access to the pools at The Grand Floridian via private boats. It was great!

Practically every summer weekend was spent in Ocean City and in early June our most exciting news of the summer came when we found out I was pregnant. It was definitely something we had been planning, we just didn't believe it would ever happen the old-fashioned way, and since I had not been under the treatment of my trusted Dr Glassner for several months, the likelihood was slim to none. The early weeks of the 1st trimester ticked by as I just hoped and prayed to get further and further along. Under the watchful eye of Dr. Glassner for the 1st 8 weeks, he assured us that all was perfect and this miracle baby was growing and thriving all on his/her own. His explanation for our miracle.... "Dan's a stud!" To say we are thankful, grateful and amazed is an understatement. We all know couples this happens to--you know the ones that go through infertility treatments and exhaustive efforts for years and years and years and then 1 day they relax and it just happens?? That was never me. Well I guess now it is! No more friends of cousins, neighbors, sister-in-law stories for me :) I plugged through the summer weeks just waiting for the weekends when Dan would take Friday or Monday off and we could head to the shore for the weekend and have an extra set of hands to entertain Jack and Luke who asked no less than 100,000 times this summer, "what can we do?". I was feeling OK, but was having bad stomach problems and some days were just knock-down exhausting. My Julie-the-cruise- director clip board was less than full and the boys found ways to get through some boring days. I will include pictures from our summer in the next blog....there were lots of fun times, just not much I could handle on my own.
In the blink of an eye, the glory days of the 2nd trimester arrived and now happily at 19 weeks, I am feeling good. At 16 weeks, Dan agreed to find out the baby's gender a few weeks early. My impatience was wearing him thin and the suspense was killing me. On September 9, we went for an elective ultrasound and clear as can be, this is what we saw...

Another beautiful little boy! How could we be anything less than thrilled? We were both truly happy and not feeling disappointed at all. I know lots of people were lighting candles, praying the rosary, practicing santorea for us to have a girl but we were just praying for healthy and growing! Gender has never been important to us. I guess because we just felt so lucky to even become parents and learned very early on that it's not up to us! There were definitely some days that we weren't sure if/how parenthood would happen for us so 4 boys truly is a gift from God. Now on to naming this blessed child....
