What I did on my summer vacation.....

Well I believe we are quickly approaching the official 1/2 way mark of summer. Still enough time to have some nice plans to look forward to, yet not to close to the end that it's downright depresssing. The daylight is still plentiful, although I do believe it is slightly darker tonight, as I write this, at 8:51 PM than it was a few nights ago. My August 26th birthday is always my guideline--at 8:00 that night it is dark. Take note. It's all downhill from there. Anyway back to the reason for my post. "What I did on my summer vacation" We have been "chalking" in the driveway, catching butterflies, playing in sprinklers, shooting hoops, scootering, biking, watering plants, going to the zoo, Ocean City, Newport& Block Island, the Please Touch Museum, celebrating birthdays--with a few biggies in the coming weeks and in general having an all around enjoyable summer. No where to be, no one to see, no clock to watch. I was sitting on our front step this afternoon holding Quinny (yes, that's right-I'm a stoop sitter) watching the boys scooter and a neighbor walked by and said I looked so calm. And yes for that 1 minute things did seem rather calm. Although I don't think I have ever been told in my ENTIRE life that I look calm. Not in the DNA. I guess it's par for the course though--if I'm not running down the street chasing someone or screaming for them to get themselves buckled in the car then yes I guess I am calm. Thanks for the compliment. Namaste.
Quinn is still in sleep boot camp. One night this week he slept from 7:30-5AM and didn't wake up crying once. Last night he woke up crying 3 times and then up for feeding at 4AM and back to sleep until 7. We just don't get sleepers. They either sleep OR eat--not both. RIght now Quinny eats like a champ. Jack and Luke sleep like champs and eat like birds. This too shall pass. Remind me when we have 3 boys that are 6'3 and my food bill is a small mortgage. Hard to imagine that these days won't last forever. Jack and Luke were having a conversation in the car today about butterflies and how they migrate to Mexico when it's Christmas at our house. Mexico! Where do they come up with this stuff? Tomorrow they'll be talking about the spill in the Gulf. Quinn just stares at them in awe. And they love Quinn so much. I am attempting to attach my first video which is of the boys entertaining Quinn with a small ball. Quinn's laugh is just precious--one of those laughs that you forget all too soon....enjoy!

Editors Note: the video that uploaded is of Quinny in his jumperoo. He literally jumped himself to sleep yesterday. He has a little cold but he wouldn't nap in his crib. Probably felt better to be standing upright.
