Happy Halloween Eve!

Over the last 2 weeks, we have had Halloween on our minds...costumes arrived, school party, decorating the house and getting ready for a little party here with some of the boys friends. They love Halloween and I guess I do too. Not so much the dressing up, but the decorating and the weather and let's face it--the candy. It will be a little rough this year without dairy but a skittles a skittle! Hopefully both boys will go out this year (in the past someone--usually Jack--has stayed behind with Nana and Pop-Pop). Charlie and Finny will also be here for the festivities as Shannon and Joey got tickets to see Pearl Jam again Sat night--the last ever show at The Spectrum. The four of us went on Tuesday night and had a great time--Dan and I left a little early because we are just plain exhausted and Quinny needs to eat :) Note the set list as Shannon says "straight from Eddie's hands to mine"......via the copy machine. Good times.

We have also had numerous Doctors appointments the last 2 weeks. The biggest one being the ENT for Quinny where they diagnosed him with Laryngomalacia which is the technical term for a "floppy airway." It is something that will correct itself by age 2 and thankfully he has a very mild case. He sounds like he is choking and makes seal-like sounds several times a day, but not all day long as some kids do, which indicates his case isn't that severe. In very severe cases, kids are at risk of turning blue and actually aspirating and make that seal sound with every single breath. Of course we still need to watch this very carefully but we did get the clearance for anesthesia for his hernia surgery in 2 weeks. The poor little monkey had a tube up his nose and down his throat (he was gagging and screaming) and then he had a pre-op type appointment with anesthesia where they had to take blood (again screaming). It was awful. I'll be glad when this surgery is all done and we don't have to go into swine-flu infested CHOP again this winter.

As you can see from the photos, the boys are getting better and better at "holding" Quinn! He is tipping the scales at 14 pounds these days and is just getting bigger everyday and his awesome smile seems to be growing each day as well. He is 13 weeks today and we are excited for his 1st Halloween. More pictures this weekend......
