The boo is gone....and so is the nap!

So we are officially on Day 23 without Luke's pacifier and it has been torturous. He is so cranky and has given up the afternoon nap b/c he claims he can't fall asleep without it, although he falls asleep at night the second his head hits the pillow. The sad part is that obviously he still needs to nap based on how quickly he falls asleep at night and how cranky he can be during the day. Jack is still sleeping 2 1/2 hours in the afternoon and he would sleep longer if I didn't wake him. So I am trying to help Luke understand the concept of "quiet time" in his room every afternoon, but as you all know Luke isn't the quietest child so this is a real challenge. As I've said from Day 1 with these boys, they never have bad days on the same day (well almost never)--one day Luke is cranky and the next day Jack. It's like they have this unspoken agreement that the next day it will be the other one's turn. So in keeping with my theory, Jack has been an absolute JOY since Luke lost his boo. He has been so sweet and loving to all of us, while Luke has been biting everyone's head off. Sort of like Mommy who seems to be a cranky pregnant lady these days.

Since the weather has been getting nicer, we have been spending more and more time out back (which the boys think is a park) and they LOVE to play soccer and baseball and basketball. Jack in particular has always loved sports. It is so amazing to watch. I am definitely not one of those mothers that is sports happy b/c frankly I was never into sports myself so I am happy with any interests they might pursue. With that said, allow me to brag about my little Jacky for a moment--this boy can hit, kick, shoot any ball you give him. He will shoot a basketball 50 times and swing a baseball bat until he hits the fence every time. Today we were outside and he said "Mommy I think I'm a lefty". And then proceeded to look at the ball on the tee and say to himself "concentrate and keep my eye on the ball" and then whacked it over the neighbors fence--lefty! He even hits a "pitched" ball--lucky for us the pitchers are generous :) He is just adorable!
