Baby Gallagher #3

Attached is a picture of our newest little boy in utero. He is adorable if I do say so myself. Another "chubby boy" for us to love! On Saturday we took Jack and Luke with us for a 3D/4D ultrasound--aka the "novelty ultrasound". It really is amazing. They keep the ultrasound machine in 3D the whole time and also let you see the baby move in real time so we saw him kicking and trying to fit his fist into his mouth. Those tricks just never get old. I was very happy to hear that he is head down and will hopefully stay in that position for the next 11 weeks. But who knows--he is such a mover that sometimes it really stops me in my tracks. And yes Jodi, per the ultrasound, he still has a penis. Sorry Avery no little baby girl cousins for you yet. We are continually thankful for this pregnancy and a healthy journey so far. Every bit of it is a true miracle.
We had this same ultrasound done 4 years ago with the boys and we loved it. As I could have predicted, Jack was really interested and sat on Dan's lap the whole time asking questions and commenting on various things. Luke on the other hand was not as happy--the room was too dark, what was that stuff on my stomach, when were we going to be done....you get the idea. I think it was just too much for him to comprehend. He thought the baby was going to be born on Saturday when we told him we were going to "see" him and never really understood the concept. I think he'll be just fine once he's here in real life :) When we got home and were reviewing the pictures Luke said he thinks he's cute.
We were also hoping to get some inspiration on the name but frankly we were just in awe watching him move and talking to Jack and Luke about their new brother. So to answer everyone's question, we have narrowed his name down to 3 names and there is a clear front runner which we have decided to keep quiet on. It is a name that we both really like, but one that we've never considered or even thought of in the past. We're still not sure what to do with a middle name but again there are 3 names in the running for that too. We're usually not ones to keep quiet on things like this, but this time around it just seems right. Jack and Luke's suggestions continue to be Mr. The King, Lightning McQueen and Tow Mater so we think it's better to just leave it at that.....And of course Luke's Mine That Bird was a top choice too until he came in 2nd this weekend at the Preakness.
11 more weeks to go until our official meeting and we just can't wait to meet this little guy and introduce him to all of you.
